Jaclyn Behan

Jaclyn Behan

Veterinary Nurse

Jackie completed her veterinary nursing studies at Melbourne polytechnic, where nurses are required to complete 22 subjects as well as 280 hours of placement within clinics. Jackie chose a variety of clinics including outer Melbourne, metro Melbourne and even a clinic in outer Sydney. This gave her a broad knowledge of the profession and how to adapt to different situations.

Jackie grew up on acreage, so animals and their welfare have been important to her from an early age. She has cared for a range of animals including sheep, chickens, cattle and horses. At home, her animal family consists of Ollie the 4 year old ginger domestic shorthair who turned up on her works doorstep as a baby and the rest is history, and Darcie the 2 year old tri coloured Australian Shepherd who keeps her very busy!

Jackie is a very compassionate team member, she cares for her patients as if they are her own. The patients respond to this by trusting her which assists in their recovery. They feel at ease which makes them eat better and generally feel more comfortable in hospital.
